Writing a Book Review Assessment

Working till the last minute! We have worked hard on our review writing as we found it so difficult and referring back to the book for quotes/evidence to support our arguments was one aspect we really worked on. Even though tired from a long term, room 20 gave it their absolute best. You are awesome guys! 😎

Goodbye Mr Harris

We had an amazing assembly to celebrate the seven wonderful years with Mr Harris. The Kapa Haka was stunning, well done to everyone involved - he certainly won't forget it!

Preparing mini workshop

Calendar Art

We recently explored using words for art and found an app called Wordfoto. At first it seemed simple by simplying adding ten words but then realised the angle of photo, background, colours and font type changed the whole feel of the photo. Lots of experimenting later we had some pretty cool pieces of work.

Go For Gold Workshop

Gaea and Maggie were the first two students of Room 20 to run their workshop. It was amazing success with feedback like 'engaged children throughout' and 'super presentation.' Well done girls, fantastic effort. Click on the link to check out the presentation yourself.

Lucidpress (Google App) and creating a flyer for our mini workshops

We had previously found an app called Lucidpress, which is a publishing tool, and tried to create a flyer but with little luck as it felt slow and difficult to use. We recently came back to it and it was totally different story. Everyone produced amazing flyers to advertise our mini ambassador course. The one displayed includes all the best bits and we are very proud of it!
Let's hope we can attract some interest.

Ambassadors Course

A huge thank you to Fiona Boyer who ran a fantastic course today. She taught us lots about the history, culture and heritage of Arrowtown and Queenstown, it was fascinating. Fiona was a brilliant story teller and we were totally hooked the entire time. Once her workshop was over we had a go at two quizzes to see if we had passed and earned our black diamond. Fiona was extremely complimentary and said we were awesome students and our scores were very high, we all passed! We now have to use this knowledge and connect with others. What should we do?
