Word Art Calligrams

Stanley from Holes by Nathaniel

We are linking our art to reading. At the moment we are enjoying Holes, Boy Overboard, Fantastic Mr Fox and Hatchet. After we have finished reading a chapter or two, Mr Bailey gives us some activities to do based around language, comprehension, reflecting and, our favourite, illustrating.  The illustrating explores our ability to create and visualize from the vocabulary and imagery of the book. Mr Bailey has never given out so many credits before so the work must have been good, we were totally inspired!

Class Dojo Winner Week 1 Term 3

Congratulations to Georgie for a fantastic week.  Clearly she had spent a lot of time working on her basic facts during the holidays and made a huge effort to participate and contribute during our first week, which is our focus for Term 3. Awesome effort Georgie!

Meet Nathaniel Masfen-Yan!

Room 20 have a new member in the class for term three. Welcome Nathaniel! He is getting to grips with his technical drawing equipment and has had a fabulous start by quizzing Mr Dubnick about building regulations!

Tech in Term 3

We had a lot of fun today using the Technical Drawing equipment. Mr Bailey is particularly happy as he thinks that this will help us take pride in our work. We have to be super accurate with our drawing using fancy rulers and set squares.

Speech Finals

It was a fantastic evening last night. The speeches were all entertaining and informative, and were performed superbly. The three judges had a very difficult job in deciding who won, but Greta from Room 19 was particularly stunning. Her speech was about sugar called 'Killing us Sweetly.' Congratulations to Annabelle who was amazing too, her outfit was particularly popular with carrots in her hunting belt!

New Layout for Room 20 and 19

With the arrival of Miss Denley in Room 19 comes some changes. The desktop computers have moved to allow the shared space to be used more effectively. Room 19 and 20 will begin to collaborate with each other during Geometry lessons and will, in time, during other lessons too. The children will have the opportunity to work with others at their level and have a chance to work with Miss Denley too. Exciting times, we will keep you updated.

Chromebook Trial

Mr Young organised us to borrow two Chromebooks to test out.  We placed two children on them for the day with a plan. At the end of the day they completed an evaluation form about how it went.  First impressions were excellent and the amount of work they completed in a day was a lot higher than normal. Novelty?

Here is a video about Chromebooks. Please let us know what you think.
